Es uno de los 14 establecimientos de Argentina que forma parte de esta red sudamericana. Está muy bien posicionado en lo que respecta a las estadísticas sobre mortalidad global en prematuros con bajo peso al nacer.
El hospital Provincial Neuquén Dr. Castro Rendón (HPN) integra desde 2019 la Red Neonatal Neocosur, de la que participan 32 establecimientos de salud de países sudamericanos. En octubre pasado la red emitió un informe donde se brindan estadísticas que dan a conocer anualmente y el HPN está ubicado en el sexto lugar con menor mortalidad global en bebés de muy bajo peso al nacer.C
En la Red Neonatal Neocosur se registran recién nacidos prematuros, que van desde los 400 a los 1.500 gramos. Para esto, cada integrante de la red a lo largo del año va incorporando los datos propios y luego se elabora un informe que es útil para saber cómo está cada uno de ellos en relación con los otros. En octubre pasado se conoció el que corresponde a 2019.
La jefa del servicio de Neonatología del HPN, Ivana Mato, consideró que “incorporarnos a la red es parte del proyecto de la jefatura para lograr una mejora continua de la calidad de atención que brindamos” y agregó “nos es útil para comparar los resultados que tenemos con neonatologías de alta complejidad de otros establecimientos de salud que están en la red, lo bueno es que de argentina están participando servicios de neonatologías reconocidas, de alta calidad y con buenos índices”.
“Esta red permite que cada uno se pueda comparar y que pueda mejorar los indicadores diseñando estrategias de mejora de la atención y a su vez aprender de los que mejores hacen las cosas” dijo Mato y agregó que “se pueden ver hospitales que tienen índices muy buenos y lo que propicia la red es que podamos ir a los que les va mejor y preguntarles qué hace de diferente, para que nosotros podamos mejorar”.
“Para poder sumarnos a la red pedimos autorización y nos aceptaron a partir de 2019, para lograrlo tuvimos el apoyo de la subsecretaría de Salud”, recordó la jefa del servicio. Remarcó que “somos uno de los pocos establecimientos públicos de salud que participan desde nuestro país, hay más del sector privado, pero ninguno de Neuquén”.
Acerca de esta red
La Red Neonatal Neocosur fue creada en 1997 y en la actualidad cuenta con 32 establecimientos activos entre públicos y privados de Sudamérica: Argentina (14), Chile (12), Paraguay (2), Perú (3), Uruguay (1).
Mato aseguró que “estamos muy bien ubicados en el ranking en cuanto a la sobrevida global de nuestros prematuros; estamos dentro de los seis primeros hospitales con menos mortalidad en los prematuros de muy bajo peso al nacer. Tenemos 12 por ciento de mortalidad global y la red tiene 23 por ciento”, detalló.
En la red se registran desde el nacimiento hasta el egreso del hospital, los recién nacidos prematuros entre los 400 y 1.500 gramos.
“Nosotros registramos en la red los bebés que nacen en nuestro hospital, no incorporamos los que nos derivan de otros”, explicó Mato. “En 2019 registramos 34 bebés nacidos con menos de 1.500 gramos, lo que se informa a la red es cantidad de nacidos vivos, fallecidos y fallecidos pos partos”.
La red muestra siete indicadores que son incorporados por cada integrante a la base de datos. Se trata de: mortalidad global; fallecimiento en sala de partos; sepsis tardía; displasia broncopulmonar; hemorragia intracraneal grado 3 y 4; retinopatía y enterocolitis necrotizante.
