Fue entonces cuando esa realidad que conocía sólo por palabras se hizo carne frente a sus ojos. Fue entonces cuando vio a los niños que pisan las calles de tierra sin zapatillas y a las mujeres que duermen en colchones humedecidos por la tierra oscura. Francisco comprendió que no alcanzaba sólo con el pan viejo: había que hacer algo más.
“Con un poquito que hagamos cada uno, podemos lograr muchas cosas”, dice Francisco, que desde ese sábado previo a la Pascua no faltó ningún otro sábado a los merenderos. Para esa fecha, asistieron a 23 espacios, pero hoy recortaron su influencia a 11 puntos fijos en Neuquén, Centenario y Plottier, elegidos porque son los que menos ayudas reciben por parte del Estado y otras organizaciones.
Francisco, Sebastián, Gabriel y un grupo de más de 10 amigos trabajan en la logística. Con el aporte de un diputado provincial que les provee el combustible, recorren distintos puntos de la región para recolectar donaciones. Ropa, juguetes, abrigo y alimentos se suman a los más de 100 kilos semanales de pan que hacen en la pandería para el total de 11 merenderos. Ahora sumaron la recolección de botellas de plástico transparente, para un nuevo proyecto de reciclaje.
También pensaron una propuesta novedosa para crear una cadena de favores, que exija un esfuerzo mínimo pero que tenga un impacto real en las comunidades. Así, los amigos reparten bandejas de plástico en las casas de los voluntarios para que estos, durante la semana, las llenen con todo lo que cocinan. La idea se gestó hace un mes y medio y ya llevan entregadas 3000 viandas a los sectores más vulnerables.
“Pensamos que una persona puede cocinar un poco de más toda la semana, y el viernes, cuando lo pasamos a buscar, ya tiene viandas para darle de comer a 7 personas”, dijo el joven solidario, que visita los hogares los viernes a las 18 para retirar toda la comida que cocinan los voluntarios.
Francisco y su grupo de amigos le prestan mucha atención a las formas. Así, se empeñan en gestionar las redes sociales de la Fundación para que los donantes vean que las cosas que aportaron son realmente entregadas a las familias más humildes. “Es muy diferente hacer la donación que entregarla, porque ahí ves realmente la necesidad”, detalló.
En una de sus visitas, los integrantes de la organización cocinaron en el lugar. “Un nene se me acercó y me pidió una porción más para su hermanito”, contó Francisco. Ese pedido, en apariencia tan simple, lo atravesó por completo. El joven recordó su paso por las competencias de automovilismo, su vida de privilegios y su regreso a la actividad comercial en Plottier. Pensó en su propia familia y en la importancia de tener un trabajo que garantice un plato de comida en la mesa. Todo lo que ese niño no tenía.
Su sensibilidad fue el motor que empujó más acciones para la Fundación. Para el Día del Niño, recolectaron más de 1500 juguetes. “Nos donaron juguetes nuevos y otros usados, pero nos tomamos el trabajo de limpiarlos y envolverlos, porque ellos se merecen un regalo y no un autito con tres ruedas”, explicó. Con esa premisa, también llevan la ropa donada a un lavadero, que se las entrega limpia y planchada, lista para que la reciban las familias.
A Francisco le cuesta llevar la cuenta de cuántas personas ayudaron con donaciones o con la preparación de viandas. Supone que fueron más de mil. Sin embargo, la necesidad sigue tan vigente como al principio, por lo que pidió a los neuquinos que se comuniquen a través de sus redes sociales para ser parte de la propuesta. Se los puede encontrar en Instagram como “somosmaigos.ayudando” o en Facebook como “Somos amigos ayudando a ayudar”. Cualquier aporte, grande o pequeño, llegará al destino gracias a su aporte logístico.
Con el crecimiento de las donaciones, Francisco decidió darle un tono de legalidad a la movida solidaria y creó una Fundación. De este modo, pueden recibir donaciones formales de empresas e instituciones, que se suman a labor propia que hacen con los repartos y la elaboración del pan.
Cada sábado, la relación de los voluntarios con los merenderos y sus asistentes crece un poco más. Pronto, su vínculo excedió la entrega de viandas y donaciones. El equipo comenzó a reconstruir una vivienda incendiada, por lo que consiguieron desde muebles hasta la vajilla nueva y trabajaron en hacer una reconexión eléctrica. También consiguen leña, medicamentos, colchones, muebles, todo acorde a las necesidades que surgen. “Cuando conocés a alguien, es imposible no comprometerte”, concluyó Francisco.

First of all I want to say awesome blog! I
had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head
prior to writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
