Día del Maestro de Educación Especial (en Argentina)
en recuerdo de la fecha de creación de la Rama Técnica de Educación Especial, que en la actualidad es una Modalidad, según la Ley de Educación.
La Educación Especial es la modalidad del Sistema Educativo destinada a asegurar el derecho a la educación de las personas con discapacidades, temporales o permanentes, en todos los niveles y modalidades del Sistema. Se rige por el principio de inclusión educativa y brinda atención educativa en todas aquellas problemáticas específicas que no puedan ser abordadas por la educación común. Se debe garantizar la integración de los/as alumnos/as con discapacidades en todos los niveles y modalidades según las posibilidades de cada persona. (Ley de Educación Nacional, art. 42.).
El profesor Alejandro “Lalo” Dávila es referente a nivel local de la educación especial. Desempeña funciones desde hace de 26 años.
En diálogo con LV4 Lalo aseguró que “es una bendición el lugar donde estoy, poder ser un mediador entre la persona con discapacidad la sociedad. Seguimos trabajando para que la sociedad conozca que son personas con derechos, con las mismas posibilidades. Son personas con capacidades diferentes. Trabajar con ellos no insume más trabajo o sacrificio. Al contrario, estamos rodeados de amor, con la responsabilidad de hacer entender a la sociedad, que ellos también son personas con derechos”.
En relación a la postura de la sociedad frente a la discapacidad, Dávila dijo que “ha ido cambiando, yo hace 26 años que trabajo, creo que en eso ha tenido que ver el hecho de que las personas discapacitadas están más integradas, más sociabilizadas, se los puede ver en eventos deportivos, culturales, sociales y eso permite a la sociedad tener más conocimiento”.
